Kaikoukai Healthcare Corporation Nagoya Kyoritsu Hospital
Nakagawa-ku, Nagoya-shi
Nagoya Kyoritsu Hospital started accepting medical tourists for more than ten years and was certified and recommended for accepting overseas patients by the JMIP and JIH respectively, thus having established a system that supports overseas patients in receiving safe and reliable medical care from early on.
In May 2023, we started the International Medical Section to further enhance acceptance of overseas patients and are working to improve the system to accept overseas patients and provide medical care more promptly and smoothly than ever. Our services are available in five languages, including English, Chinese, Indonesian, Spanish, and Portuguese. Overseas patients can receive medical care while feeling assured because interpreters are available during the entire process, from inquiry to consultation, testing, and treatment.

- Nagoya Kyoritsu Hospital started to accept overseas patients over ten years ago.
The Hospital took initiative to start the International Medical Section in May 2023 for the purpose of providing clinical practice-based meticulous medical care to overseas patients. Along with the philosophy and code of conduct of the Corporation, we will improve and enhance the environment of accepting foreign patients for “universal medical care for all people of any nationalities.”

Features of the hospital
Safe and reliable medical services for foreign patients at Nagoya Kyoritsu Hospital are provided from the foreign patients’ perspectives: They are supported by medical interpreters and translation devices, all staff name plates have their names and disciplines in Japanese, English, and Chinese, and flags indicating available languages are shown on the name plates if the staff members can speak languages other than Japanese. The Hospital is certified by the JMIP and recommended by the JIH and naturally posts signs and direction boards in multiple languages, and it can offer responses and meals considerate of patients' religions.
In addition to much treatment experience in dialysis, catheter interventions, gastrointestinal endoscopic treatment, and orthopedic surgery, we have introduced a state-of-the-art gamma unit and radio-frequency hyperthermia device for cancer treatment, providing multidisciplinary cancer treatments. We are also confident about our MR imaging-monitored Focused Ultrasound Surgery (FUS), which has been introduced by only a few hospitals in Japan, with the top-level number of treatments.

Our system and efforts to accept patients by medical tourism
To ensure that international patients can receive medical care with peace of mind, we have received and are continuing to renew our accreditation under the Japan Medical Service Accreditation for International Patients (JMIP) and have received recommendation as one of the Japan International Hospitals (JIH) by Medical Excellence Japan, which introduces medical institutions that actively accept international patients. To receive such accreditation/recommendation, hospitals are required to provide multilingual medical information, be culturally and religiously responsive, and have an appropriate organizational structure in place. We provide detailed support by offering dietary considerations, such as Halal meals and lending prayer sets.
In addition, we have prepared a dedicated treatment floor for international patients, where reception, consultation and billing can be done in one place, and dedicated private wards, with full-time staff acting as interpreters and medical coordinators to assist with procedures related to visa application and period of stay.
